On the hunter model with the bolt release, can you remove the bolt release to use on an action that has a side bolt release?

Yes, but you need to change to the shorter pins. Or you can cut the top of it off if its the Rem style.

Thanks, will they sell you the shorter pins? Now that I think about it, I don't see why I couldn't just leave it like it is, other than it rattles.

IIRC, the Remington style bolt release pins have a shoulder on them which allows the release lever to float on them? I could be wrong. It's been awhile since I tore one apart.
