Jewel Trigger Problems

Hi Friends

I have this Jewell trigger installed on r700 action. Installed fine and worked fine until I want PDog shooting. Wind and dust jammed the trigger. No biggy. I took it home took it apart, ran it through my ultrasound cleaner.

However, when I went to reassemby it and compared it to pic on the net I noticed my internal trigger is way diffrerent. is this a fake? please help

Your upper lever is broke. The lower part which engages sear is gone.

The first picture is an HVR with safety. The second is a benchrest trigger . They do not have a safety.

Ya, I did pierce a primer and i was shooting PDogs in a very dusty cross wind. that is what cause the trigger to jam. BB

Your upper lever is broke. The lower part which engages sear is gone.

Ya, I think there is a missing piece. The vertical lever has a lateral piece that attaches to the bottom and engages the trigger.

I just vacuumed the entire shop and sifted through the sledge. No part! Arrgh! Funny thing, after I separated the two halves I immediately took a picture so I would be able to reassemble. the part is not in my picture. Well, back to Jewell it goes.

This trigger design is nothing like the diagrams in the manual that came with my trigger. I guess its time for them to update their literature.

I don't think there is anything wrong with your trigger. The extra piece is for triggers with a safety.

You are definitely missing the piece that engages the trigger. There is no link between the trigger and the rest of the parts in what you have there.

Because when you pierce a primer it can break the bar on a Jewell. As a side note a Bix n Andy won't do that. Matt

your lower sear is gone,,most likely from a blanked primer,,,,send it to Jewell in Texas and they will fix it and ship it back for 50$ ,,at least thats what they charged me,,,,search Jewell trigger under my name and you will find pics of mine with the broke piece that yours is missing,,
