Jewel trigger or Timney trigger

I need to replace the trigger on my GA Precision Crusader rifle
Which would be the best for F class shooting and in the field shooting groundhogs. Jewel trigger or Timney trigger

Jewell... I have a bunch of Jewells, and one Timney - I wish I had all Jewells.

The Timney trigger is OK, and the Timney people are great, but the Jewell trigger cannot be beat.

+1 on the shilen for hinting, they shoot fantastic.Has anyone tried the shilen competition trigger yet?

I just put a Timney on my Rem 700 build and it's not much of an improvement over what I know I could have done with the factory trigger. So I kinda wasted $125. Should have paid a little more and went with the Jewell...

I agree with the earlier poster. A timney is a good trigger and a great company to deal with. If you want a 2 or 3 lb trigger for hunting they are pretty doggone good for the money. They are basically what a rem factory trigger should be, but isn't. No slam meant to Remington.

The Jewell's are a whole other ball game, head and shoulders above. They are also twice the price and perpetually back ordered.

I vote Jewel, but you gotta keep them clean, I give mine a lighter fluid bath every 300-500 rounds, many Sniper Matches, thousands of rounds, 2 308 Win barrels, and 1 260rem barrel and never once problem.

I really like my first Jewell, a bottom safety model for Remington 700s and 700 footprint actions (Bat Machine action in this case). The rifle with the Timney (Ruger 77) is fine if all you're looking for is a solid 2-3 lb trigger.

You gotta keep ALL triggers clean.

I have had two Kelbly triggers for years and many thousands of rounds and can't fault them. Have Jewell as spare just in case.

I wouldnt want a Jewel in a hunting rifle. I see too many issues on clean bench guns. I have both jewels and kelblys. I have not had a problem with either. But as stated, keep them clean.
