JC Higgins 222 rifle

I bought the above rifle some time ago what the seller didn't tell me that the barrel was pitted, he sold it too me that it was in immaculate shape the barrel looked very good to my eye and it shot well enough. Well i decided to go another route as I have now been hooked on custom rifles. So i decided to sell it. Well i shipped it to a gunsmith who asked for a 3 day inspection. I was good with that as not being a person who could determine it was pitted as it was very shinny etc. And would never intentionally lie to anyone. Well he said he examined it and it had pitting from midway to the muzzle and is returning it. As I am returning his purchase price with my apoligy, as I sent it in good faith. Well enough of me crying. It has a Sako L-46 action. In your opinion would it be good to re-barrel it as the action seems to be fine? Lou

That would be a lovely action for the 6x45 I've been pondering ;D I would put a new tube on it if you wanted to keep it if you would like to just get rid of it well that's up too you. Later,

Kirk

Thanks for the replies gentleman. I guess I could get it re-barreled. As I have $550 in it. It does shoot good, maybe I'll just keep it and shoot the barrel out. Lou
