Japanese Sightron

Just read a post the insinuated all Sightrons are not made in Japan. Which are not and how do you tell?

SIII and SIIB and SVSS are made in Japan.

STAC's are made in the Phillipines.... made to the same high quality but overhead is so much lower so your costs are much lower. Some of the nicest scopes on the market today for dirt cheap.

STAC's may have similar "build" quality, but their optics are not as good at the SIII, which is not as good as the older Zeiss Conquest MC, which interestingly is better than the new Zeiss HD! go figure!
