Wow, what a day In Lake Charles, we knew it was going to be windy, but this was brutal.

From the very first Match at 100 to the final Match at 200, the winds were coming out of the Southwest at 20 to 25 mph, with gust over 30.

Jackie Schmidt won the 100 yard, and Donald Conner won the 200 yard leg.

Jackie Schmidt held on to win the overall championship.

Thanks to Larry Tillery and his Crew for hosting the Matches at Lake Charles. We always have a good time over there.

Here are the results and a picture of those that garnered awards.49CE9AE9-AE04-486F-9A1B-B17739E0A6FD.jpegE8AB0759-C89F-43EA-8E05-E5A9D805EDD0.jpeg

Well done, Jackie. Hanging on in conditions like that is impressive. :) -Al
Al, I shot my 30BR at 100 with my own 112, and it shot great.

But I had already decided to shoot my 6PPC AT 200 with my new 68 grn bullet.

I think the 6 did it’s job quite well. The conditions were just terrible, and the 5 points I dropped were simply my inability to judge exactly how much “push” was happening at any given moment.

Here is one of my 200 yard targets, Match 2. I had decided to shoot a steady left to right push rather than the let ups, because the let ups just swirled. I hit the slighter and it was a 10, so I got two down. Instead of stopping, (and thinking), I had not noticed the let up down range and it exactly where the condition put it, up and to the left.

I then worked the slighter in almost a straight away, held about two lines over and got 4 and 5 on the mothball.

as you can see, the Rifle was doing it’s part.

I want to start shooting my 6PPC more at 200 now that I am making my own bullets.

My 30BR was it’s usual self At 100. I have shot three 100 yard Aggs in Matches so far this spring, a 250 23x, a 250 21x , and a 250 22x. It is doing it’s part.image.jpg
