I normally take my bullets straight out of the box while loading. Today I decided to sort about 200 180 VLDs by base to ogive. I’ve got a big pile that measured between .708 and .709. Another good pile .001 longer and one about .001 shorter. The groups obviously get smaller as you get farther out either side. The way offs I’ll use as foulers, but there’s only so many of those you need. So what do you do with your different groups? Load them and keep them together? How big of a spread do you group together. Out of 200 I’ve got probably 180 between .707 and .7105. Probably 120 of those are .707-.709.

These are F-class loads. Not benchrest.

bks,

Now you can trim meplats and point them. I use an ogive measurement +/- 0.001" for grouping. So your 0.708 group would be good.
