It's that time of year. Let's see those kills.

I just had to go out and try and collect a cat. Came in pretty hard to the call, unusual for cats in Central Mississippi, most of the time they just appear. This one was running hard enough that I had to wait for him to stop. 100 yds give or take, dropped in his tracks. 6 BR,70 grain Nosler Varmegeddon, 3150 fps. No exit, 2nd cousin is a taxidermist, so he wants to practice, straight to the freezer.

I wish it were that green here.
It’s growing so fast here you can watch it.
Another week or two and you won’t be able to see a thing until they cut the winter crop.
We mowed the grass this week so that will be once a week until fall.

4/21/22 First time Turkey hunting in 3 years. Bad knees kept me from getting after them. Left knee replaced 9/20 and the right one in 4/21. Best decision I ever made! 19 pounds, 8.25 in beard, 1 spur broken in half, other spur as 1in. Mid Tennessee afternoon hunt!! Man it's great to be able to walk with little to no pain!!
Thanks Bill

Little late to post forgot about putting it on here. Opening day of pa double with my dad first turkeys out of our camp Got off work Friday night at 11 went home packed truck and made 2.5 hour drive to camp in elk county was able to close eyes for about 45 minutes by time for everything opened up and ready to go. Hiked up mountain where we heard birds previous year and put move on a nice long beard on roost couldn’t get him to come closer then that 100 yard mark for a hour we quit calling hoping he would work away and we could make another move on him. While waiting 3 gobbled about 30 yards behind us and in no time three jakes came to 15 or 20 yards, was a easy choice for us lol. Was heading back to the truck before 8am we have got nice deer up there but never had time to Turkey hunt up there. Was a perfect Turkey morning in the big mountains clear night sun broke out bright was about 29 degrees and birds were talking good. And to top it off Sunday morning went to ridgeway for vbr shoot ended up shooting a 26 and tie for first in my class.
