It's that time of year. Let's see those kills.

My friend Paula shot her first deer this morning. I’m proud to say her husband said it was my help and support with her shooting that gave her the confidence to go hunting with him. They’re in a spot with a good number of big bucks. Glad she got a nice oneView attachment 1074425
That deer has one heck of a body too. How much did it weigh? Must be corn fed deer. They don't get that big where I hunt..

Ledd Slinger, Nice deer. Good to see kids hunting. That buck has a real nice rack. Tell your son good job for me.. I'm envious, will probably never see one that big let alone kill one that big..Keep it up.

Well over 200. We don’t bother to weigh them. I just know it’s a lot harder to get them in the truck up here than it is the farther south you go. SEMO is an exception though. They imported WI deer years ago to help their heard grow back and it shows in the antler genetics and body size

If you can’t eat all the perch I might know somebody that can help you out with that problem, would not want you to go away with a bellyache from eating too much you know! Will pay all shipping fees necessary.

I got home kind of late the other night with a sackful of those perch, and didn't feel like standing in front of the sink for an hour. My chick had the card table set up for a project, so I appropriated it and changed my fillet station to a more comfortable area. Took a lot of the pain out of the project, and I think I may have found my new spot. :p

EC7CF24E-18E2-4250-8282-69782AAB8218.jpeg Well it is about 42 hours until whitetail rifle season opens here in Sask. Woke up this morning and it was - 10 C with less than a 10 k wind. A friend and I loaded up and decided to try and call the first coyotes of the season. We had a few Howling up and down the valley and then this fellow popped up over a hill at about 75 yards. This was the first coyote taken with my new rifle , It’s a 6mm Ackley 1:8 twist, pushing a 87 Berger hunting VLD at 3450 FPS. He went down on The spot without so much as a tail twitch or leg kick- I was a bit worried about what the exit side of him would look like- but to my surprise it was no more than a nickel sized exit. I hope this is this first of many this season- was a big healthy male.

What jimmymac said ... me too. I’m not hunting anything four-legged this year but I enjoyed the thread.
