It’s late…..weird ideas with scopes-Nighrforce

Has anyone ever tried making a turret or retrofitting a turret from an NXS onto an SHV?

Would it work or is it even possible to do something like this?

I love the SHV but it’d be really nice to have more than 10 MOA per turn.

The number of clicks is inside the turret and fixed mechanically. The arc of each click at the screw thread rate determines the amount each click represents. To get to that whole mechanism would be beyond anything you can do i would think. I cannot imagine that the 2 mechanisms would be interchangeable.

By 'turret' I think the OP means the cap with the markings on it - not the actual mechanism that turns the erector.
Pretty sure if it fits and clicks, it works.

I've sent my Leupold scopes in for work with 'turrets' from Kenton - Leupold never mentioned them.

Yes.

Simply getting a turret that has more number on it I guess is what I’m getting at.

Not doing anything internal.

Just looking at the turret cap I guess. Turret to me is the thing I grab onto to click my scope up and down.

To change the "MOA" per turn, you will have to change at least two parts, the one with male threads and the one with female threads as that is what determines the amount of movement internally. Basically go to a courser thread.

I got in touch with them to see if they could make me one that at the very least has another row of MOA numbers above the first row.

I'd just like a knob that is twice the size then add much larger
numbers. My Night Force Comp has nice large numbers and
hash marks.

It's not possible or feasible with the components as they are.

You would have to change out the entire elevation adjustment to be able to have more MOA per turn. Second, the cost of the components would drive up the price of the whole scope to the point that you could have bought an NXS in the first place.
