Josh, You are the man! Fortunately the dumpo is right around the corner, a couple miles away. Yeah, I'm wearing a mask and gloves unlike most of the younger crowd. They still don't get it that you can have it, not know it and give it to someone else. In their 30's and still suffering from the Three "I" disease. Sad.

View attachment 1170479 I got here about 20 minutes ago. The place opens at 8am. With my work hours and the grocery store’s reduced hours, this is the only way I can get the things that disappear early.

Anyway- meet the two smartest people in line. I can’t believe I didn’t think to bring a folding chair.

I guess we are lucky in my little town. The local little grocery has remained stocked with the things I buy. It seems always busier than before in there though. I wear the mask now and gloves. They finally have put up plastic barriers at the checkouts and the checkers wear masks. No online or even self checkouts here. I guess they have senior hour everyday from 7 to 8 am. I’ll have to go check it out.

I'm not sure of your age, but our local Wal-Mart has a policy of opening @ 6:00a.m. on Tuesdays for Seniors only. That is, from 6-7 on Tue., Seniors only.
They don't "card us" at the door, but it works pretty well. The other 6 days a week, they open at 8 a.m.

There were "youngsters" at mine last Tuesday. The little bit of TP available was a dinky 4 pack of little half pint rolls.

Nope. wife just orders online, runs over, they put it in the car, she drives away.

I'd never trust a store employee to select my stuff, esp. fresh fruit n veggies and undented cans.

They may be smart???, but they don't look very fast. You should be able to easily outrun them to any specific section of the store and pick up what you want.

My wife and I took this opportunity to not buy any groceries for a month and live off what we have to see how far our stores would stretch. We still have to go shop for her folks though.

I still haven’t figured out the “7:00 to 8:00 Seniors Only” crap. I’m still enjoying my retirement at 8:00am and don’t want to get up for grocery shopping. I guess all of us “Senior Citizens” get up at 5:00am everyday. I did that for almost 50 years. I’m ready to relax some.

I’m off work for a while, recovering from shoulder surgery. I walk several miles a day with an elderly neighbor. We start at 6:00 AM. She gets up at 2:30 AM.
