So I thought I'd send an email to State Dept to inquire what the status is regarding the transfer to Commerce Department, here's the response I received:
Dear Mr. Eliseo,
Thank you for your inquiry. Until a final rule is published we’re not able to advise you on whether or not the specific items that you manufacture will continue to require registration with the Department, but assuming the publication of a rule similar to our draft that was published in 2018, it will certainly be the case for some current manufacturers that registration with DDTC is no longer required if and when that rule takes effect. I encourage you to keep an eye out for the final rule, and if, when such a rule is published, you continue to have questions, you are more than welcome to reach back. And of course, I should add, in the meantime nothing has changed regarding registration and licensing requirements for items currently controlled under the ITAR.
Many thanks, and a happy new year,
Josh
