Issues with Nosler (trying to buy bullets)

I set up an account with Nosler to get notifications on some bullets.

I received notification on Friday 8/27, that they were in stock.

I tried ordering from their website through my phone (secure wifi connection).
Their website kept locking up.

Tried to contact them through the email on their website.
I got a notification that i wanted to share a product with myself.

Tried again to order from both my desktop & laptop computer at home. Website keeps locking up.

On Monday i tried calling them. "Lines are busy, please leave a message".
Never heard back from them.

I have tried every day this week to still purchase online. Website still locks up.

Well, at least i know why, after a week, they still are showing the bullets in stock!

I live in the Area. There Web. Site is a joke.
I have a Account and Vets Discount , I have sent Messages No response ...

I get you don't have a Account ?

Shooters Pro Shop usually has a good selection of Nosler bullets and are reliable

Interesting, I get the same notices from Nosler's Shooters Pro shop and they showed bullets I wanted, so I order some and they were in my mailbox 3 days later, This was just with in this last week and when I recieved the email notice.

Yeah. Doesn't smell right. For Reloading Powders, there is no way to select a powder, but there is an 'Add to Cart' button. It actually adds a Reloading Powder to the cart - just you have no idea which powder it is.

Most all places in Bend have a Help Wanted Sign ?
Nosler is most likely in that boat ?

then i ordered 3 - 150NP blems from shooters pro shop site with no problems.
thank you much for the tips!
now if i can just find the magazine for the 760 30-06!

Web based ordering systems are prone to overloading and a lot of them that are not built specifically to handle high volume or large surges in volume can lock up just because the code they're running is trash. It sounds to me like they have a few bugs in the system generally and it doesn't handle surges well. I remember when the Arab Spring popped and I was running the web infrastructure for an online smut peddler. Within minutes of the national firewalls in northern African countries came crashing down, so did our billing system. Took me a bunch of hours to find an infinite loop in the code that was never tripped before because nobody in Africa could use our site until Arab Spring (we filtered them... too much fraud). We'd only opened to them then because one of our analysts wanted to make an infographic about it. You'd probably be surprised at the kind of disturbing kink that dominates in Arabic speaking regions. Our environment was designed to handle huge surges and it worked really well up till then but a little logic bug and a lack of real world testing of the specific case that triggered it let an infinite loop get going and that was all it took to knock us out for hours. Imagine what Nosler or any company not focused on web operations has in the way of challenges trying to run a decent e-commerce site. It's not their core competency.

now nosler blocked me from their site?
all i was doing was researching 264 NP , AB , LRAB?
and trying to set an in stock allert.

It sounds like you might be using an unsupported/outdated web browser. I really doubt someone at Nosler would take the time to block your IP address from their website.

Given my professional experience I have to respond to this: Oh yes they sure as heck would. I would. They likely even have automation in place to black hole stuff that looks like a bot especially now that so many people have built their own bots. If it looks like a bot, a lot of sites will squish it into a nice little black hole. Some websites do this out of concern about things like DOS attacks but right about now I'd figure that the gun industry sites that are doing it are doing it out of a sense of fair play to the less technologically able.

If you pound a website with a lot of requests really quickly and they have good log analysis based black-holing going on you can get picked up even without a ridiculous count of hits, all you have to be is among the top X percentile of hitters and you can catch a block. I set this kind of stuff up for quite a number of companies with heavy web presences.

lol, nope! just lil ole me.
