Issues loading 110gr VMAX in 308.

Trying to help a friend with some reloading his 308 today. Ran into an issue with Hornady 110gr VMAX (23010).
Sized case neck inside diameter 0.308".
Bullet diameter is 0.309".

Even with a very generous camfer these will not even start to seat.

Any suggestions?

I've loaded a ton of those and they're very accurate and never had any issues at all seating them. I never measured one but if they're .309 I'd call Hornady.

Take a look at Lyman M Dies (caliber specific), they will help in seating flat based bullets.

My box of 110 gr. V-max are .308 on the money.

He thinks he found the issue.

He had brought over some once fired PMC brass.
The new Starline brass let the bullets seat just fine.

Why he thought bringing the fired PMC brass to me was more desirable than the virgin Starline brass, i'll never know!
