Is your aiming accuracy @1000 comparable to one kernel?

What is the point of doing a ladder test if you believe one grain makes a difference?
The ladder test is to tell you where the bullets exit at the same position. Where a node is to help with variances. That one kernel can be enough to cost a world record, even if its only 1/4 inch at 1000 yards. I have seen many relays lost by way less then that. When you lose your relay, you go home, no shootoffs. Long-range BR is different then other shooting venues. If you don't load very particular, I guarantee there are another 4 or 5 guns in your relay who do. Matt

Results below are from a 600 yd match held a few years ago in White City OR. Take a look at the two gun, 6 target agg and the difference between 1st and 5th. I keep it as a reminder that every small detail matters.

That's what I am saying, only .010 difference between first and second on a 6 target agg. I believe in 600 you get to shoot the agg and no shootoffs. In 1000 yard you shoot your relay and if you lose, you go home, no shootoff.. Matt

Providing IBS-600 data from the 2015 & 2016 IBS 600 Yard National top 10.
The data is from 1600-rounds and 320 measured targets in total, spread across multiple match days.
In the IBS, the format for the IBS-600 Yard National's that is held each year is a 16-target Aggregate tournament. 8-targets from LT-Gun and 8-targets from HV-Gun from each participant.

Attached below is the Groups from both the 2015 & 2016 IBS-600 National's top 10 to both LT & HV:

Matt, You are right aggs. are about luck of the relay conditions. Shoot offs are side by side under the same conditions. .01 powder change can be seen in a top quality equipment. Most important is a the quality of the barrel to see it........ Jim

Not picking on you , but I have read this type of statement from many guys. I think it needs to be quantified. If your talking service rifle or sling, I agree. If your talking Benchrest or F-class this is a terrible mentality to have.
I am an active benchrest short range shooter. I shoot 10-12 matches a year and average around 5000 rounds down range a year.
I know the values of the wind and what it can do.

But are they Zircon encrusted?

If he bought the ones I suggested then they will have an electrostatic dissipative coating. Whatever the heck that is. lol... Says it's anti-static for sensitive electronic instruments and/or sensitive shooters. :D
