Is The Turban Praizipress Still Available

I was just wondering if anyone knew if the Turban Praizipress was still being manufactured or if the company went out of business? I emailed the company 4 different days over the past week and tried calling their number in Germany taking into account the time difference (at least I think I did); no reply to either and you can't leave a phone message.

Anyway, thank you for any input

Germany is six hours ahead of US Eastern Time. If it is 8:00 am Eastern Time, it is 2:00 pm in Germany. What time did you call? Do you remember exactly how you dialed their number, ie what the format and actual numbers that you used were?

Besides the possibility of a national holiday, businesses may be experiencing some of the drawbacks to supply chains for raw materials for manufacturing just like we are.

My other guess is that if they really have shut down we would have read about it all over the internet.

Gentlemen,
Thank you for the replies/help.
Yes, I did not think about the EuroHoliday traditions. But, I would hope that a business would at least have a message for their phones or have a skeleton staff taking orders, or some type of notice on their website, but then again, their way of doing things is different.

Yup took time difference into account.

I have never tried to phone Germany or any other outside US number so I probably messed that up for sure.
This is what I dialed: 01149096761631. That zero in front of the 9 puzzled me, so I also tried: 0114996761631. Anyway, I will try both number again next week at the appropriate time. Maybe they will return.

I totally, agree, if they had closed operation it would have been noted somewhere I would hope. Also, their website looks active and you can place orders, so who knows. Puzzling.

thank you all for your help,
Dan

What is the importance of the ‘slash’ between the 5th and 6th numbers?

I copied this directly from their contact page.

I’m sure that you folks noticed this, but your numbers are different from each other. Maybe a wrong number was dialed. Anyway, I hope that you get in touch with them.

Oh, I’ve seen where a “/“ can mean a pause before you dial the last four digits. I have no idea if that is the case here and this was when I was stationed in Germany some 40 years ago. Good luck!

Europe usually takes month of August for vacation.

Yes, I just typed them wrong in my post, they are the same number just one is without the 0.
I thought 011 is for us in the US to dial out, then 49 is the country code for Germany. Then it is debatable if you dial the 0 whether you are in the EU or out of the EU. This all changes if you are calling a cell phone. I am hoping the number on the website is a Lan line not a cell phone line. Oh well, maybe a Corbin press from the US is ok too.

How do you call Germany from a cell phone?
  • In order to call Germany, dial 011 +49, then the phone number. If you're dialing a cell phone, remove the 0 from 011 to complete the call - simply add +49 to start of the number.

  • 011 - international access code; dial first when calling abroad from the US or Canada
  • 49 - Country Code for Germany
  • Phone Number (remove initial 0):
    • fixed - 5 to 12 digits, including area code
    • cell phones - 10 or 11 digits
  • sample call from US to a landline in Frankfurt: 011 49 69 ???? ????

The last 4 digits of their land line is 1316. The 1631 you used for the last 4 digits is their fax #

The slash is used like the dash we use between numbers. Other times they use a dot. They are "different"
When writing measurement numbers, like 1 period 005" (1.005") they will use 1 comma 005" (1,005")

Follow up:
Thank you all for all the help with the phone line.
I think I left a message but since I don't speak German I'm not sure what the message
said. I heard a beep, left a message and phone number, and I guess will just wait.
But, if multiple emails were not answered I doubt a phone message will at least until maybe
next month if vacations are really what is happening.

Again, thanks for all the help.

Thanks.:)

I have the dash on my phone from when I called them originally to order my presses. I don’t recall see the slash but I don’t check overseas phone numbers that frequently. The dot and comma I am familiar with.

OK, all appears to be resolved now.
The phone number worked (once I stopped calling the fax line).
I got an email from Thomas Turban, there was some issue with the website and needs the attention of their website designer/manager; some type of intermittent glitch. It was processing orders for the viewer on screen but not communicating the orders to the company. If you choose to go through paypal the company will not process the payment until the order is ready to ship. At least this is clarification for those who decide to pursue this option.

thanks for all the help, now I can call Germany
dan

Well, That’s just wrong. :)
Wait until you see a German write the number 1 (ein). It looks like an effed up 7 and a 7 looks like a reticle with hashmarks. :)
I worked for a German company and therefore a lot of Germans. I had to do a lot of deciphering.
