Is the premier accuracy fli rite the best one?

What is “the best” as far as concentricity gauges on the market. I know 21 century is up there, but the fli rite seems to be the only one that can actually fix the runout.

I would think that by straightening ammo, it would change the bullet tensions. Run out is over rated. In 1000 yard BR, my guns have showed no difference in accuracy. Matt

my thoughts

proper reloading techniques create straighter ammo. i don't like the idea of.doing anything to a loaded round that might affect consistency of neck tension.

I use mine to check my loading procedures and equipment. I believe it to be the best on the market although maybe the most expensive. I also don't believe in trying to straighten loaded rounds. I work to get my process to make straight ammo.
Would tapping the bullet small amount really do damage? 1000th or two is so minimal

I can't answer that, I don't know. So much of what we do and especially so much of what we may read on these forums can never be seen on the target under match conditions.

Target showed me no difference between 0.000" and 0.005" bullet run. Just about any press and die should get you 0.005" or better bullet run out.
I’ve researched this a lot more then I’ve tested and this response seems to be what I’m hearing from a lot of people who have way more experience then me. I’d like a concentric gauge for curiousity and testing reasons but that’s it. Only thing I’d add is that it’s important to make sure your reloading techniques are sound and you anneal. I begin having tension issues after about 3 to 5 reloadings from new brass and upon appearance it seems significant enough to cause problems.

Also bearing in mind that with, say, runout of .003" your bullet is only off center by .015" in relation to the bore...

I would buy a concentricity tool for the purpose of telling me if my loading process is alright, not to straighten loaded rounds.

As other said get your reloading setup right and you won't need to straighten bullets. I do a random check on my loaded stuff of about 15% of the batch and if those all below .001 I call it good. If I see some going over that I do a check of the entire box and cull the bad ones to a warmup/practice box

Think of the Pillsbury Dough Boy. You push with your finger on one side and there is going to be a corresponding reaction on the other.

The one ive found to be the most user friendly from my experience is the Accuracy one concentricity gauge.
Its a lot less flinchy then most of the designs out there.
Not that the 21st century one is bad in any way just a bit less user friendly, and more sensitive to the way you use it, the wheel does help a bit with that though.
If that is worth the extra $$ is not up to me to decide though.

As plenty of people have stated never have used, or see how a concentricity gauge with a bullet straightening feature will help anything. It certainly won't make your ammo more accurate.

Use it to analyze your reloading process and get rid of what's causing runout in the first place. Then if you desire use it as a reference checking your loaded ammo from a few samples each time.

One of my least used tools..... Borrow one to see if your dies make straight bullets.

My dies do make straight bullets.
I Check one out of the bunch and done.
My buddy tried to tell me but my "I have to know" attitude cost me money !
