Is the new Edgewood “Edge” bag legal for F Class

i just saw that Edgewood came out with a new front rest bag. It seems to be longer in the uprights that can somewhat provide some grip on the stock. Has anyone run the bag through NRA to see if it will be legal? Given the front rests I saw at SWN last year that captured the stock I just wonder.

Anyway I look forward to the opinions and discussions

It's hard to say without having one in-hand. The "acid test" would be to insert the stock forearm into it, adjust it per your normal tension, grab the stock, and see if you can raise it straight up out of the bag without lifting or otherwise disturbing the lay of the front rest. From the bag's appearance, it might be that the bag side rails would be taller than the metal side-rails of a Neo-SEB; and that the bag side rails would flex outward releasing whatever "grip" on the stock that you have adjusted to? At least when you try it, you can either tighten-down "bag grip" or lighten-up in order to pass the "acid test"...thereafter you may better access whether the bag can be of any value for the control of torque, which it appears to be shaped for?

Worked as a block officer there, only saw one that truly 'captured' the stock, and it was brought to the attention of the Match Director and the NRA HP Committee members that were present. Unless you want that level of scrutiny on your gear on the line, I'd skip that line of reasoning.

The guys actually *winning* aren't resorting to these kind of 'tricks'... take a lead from them.

Yep...a person might find that he's used up all his "prep time" just satisfying challenges to his rig!;):D

the new Edgewood "The Edge" modified front bags were designed specifically for NBRSA group BR after a recent rule change. i doubt any consideration for the rules of other disciplines went into the new design of this one particular bag.

i'm sure Jack makes a number of front bags that will meet your needs and satisfy the rules you have to follow. or, if you want something that isn't offered, just call him and ask. i have a few one-off front and rear bags from Jack.

If the front bag "captures" the stock to a degree that it can lift even a small amount of weight, I would argue that it's attached to the rifle, and therefore the rest should count towards the weight limit.
