Is the Mildot dead ?

Just curious what y'all think. More and more scopes in my price range ( I'm a poor so $200-$400 tops) seem to be really moving away from the basic Mildot . Seems now it's mainly caliber specific BDC drop dots and Christmas tree type stuff . Not saying anything wrong with those , I just personally like a Mildot for most of what I do. And seems for every scope I find with a Mildot theirs 10more with one of the others I mentioned.
So , is the ole mil dot dead/ dying ?
Or do I just need to hurry up and stop being poor ? :D:D

SIGHTRON S11 used to offer them in mildot. Good scope imho. Look for a used one here or eBay has
them from time to time. Put a want ad on here. Somebody may have one.

Look at the Arken 6-24. I just shot with my new one last Friday. Seems solid and has good feedback from guys that have had them a while
I like mildot scopes when some guy wants to dump one cheap because he thinks MOA is better. They zero just fine and it’s just math after that!
 
The resolution of mildot is lower than many long range shooters require. It would not work for F Class and increasingly in PRS MOA seems to be preferred.

Yeah that's why I can't stand them, seem their made to catch shooters. I like versatility a little too much for caliber specific BDC's

Or just get a mildot reticle and MOA turrets like my Bushnell elite 10x, lol! It works out as nearly a perfect bdc reticle on my hunting 30-06, so I don't turn turrets anyway.
 
Since I can't balance a checkbook, let alone figure our MOA/MIL etc, I just use a plex. Then I guess.

I do have a few scopes with dot thingys. I use them sometimes. But usually forget to.

I am still a clicker and dial up.

Not saying that is best, just saying I am either too old or too stupid to learn anything new.

Not dead at all. Used a lot on the tactical side(mil, PRS). On the target side we tend to use a scope reticle (moa) that's a lot closer to what we do. If you use a scope with stadia demarcations. I find them handy for bracketing wind. And if out in the wild shooting steel, just as handy as mil-dot.
 
My one RRA 5.56 sports a 4.5-30 Bushy XRS with mil dot.
The chucks in my area hate the damn thing. Used it for
years at steel plate match's until decided I needed more
power. If Bushnell would have offered their mil dot in a 40
or more power, I would own it.....
