Is the 6BR boring?

For me boring is perfect. I have limited time to load and zero time for practice. The only time I shoot is matches basically. I chose the 6br because it’s extremely accurate, easy to load for and barrels last forever. I got a savage dual port and a shilen 8 twist for nss. 108 Berger to the lands 30g varget and it shoots better than I can. Haven’t touched the load until 500 rounds. Seated the bullet 10 thou longer and it was perfect. I feel like with all the new 6mm variations coming out everyone forgets the 6br. I only shoot out to 400-500 and I would not choose any other caliber.

Maybe it isn't so boring. Shot a few today to find the ~2900 fps sweet spot and the groups opened up. Even though I am still breaking in the barrel, I fell like I might be wasting my time since I am shooting the old 107 SMKs that are not pointed from the factory. But, dammmmn, still shooting good.

I hope this pic works. I finally had a chance to shoot my Savage PTA in 6br. Berger 105's, 30.4 Varget. Target was 160 ish yards(I wanted to stay in the shade!) My first foray into anything like this. I'm so pumped! I'm totally hooked. Now I need to work on trigger work, rear bags and follow through.

years ago, I had ARS of odessa tx rebarrel a ruger mini-30 to 6 ppc, nice lil rifle, I've used it gathering fur and a bit of deer hunting. I have a no turn neck, just load and shoot, maybe not a tack driver but its the best shooting mini in this part of the country. think for normal hunting ranges it would be a toss-up.

Now just go from 29 up in .2 increments and you'll see greatness, 6br takes all the problems away, love a shilen

I ran all the way up to 31.3 grains of RE-15 and hit just over 2900 fps. Going to fine tune it around 31.2 with some seating depth tests. Hopefully, this weekend.

Is this a straight 6BR? That is really fast. Are the primer pockets still tight on the brass that produced 3000 fps? I'm curious because I have one I'd like to get a lil more speed out of but don't want to wreck my brass. thanks
