Is the 22 nosler stickin around?

That 20 nosler sounds like a winner in my book. Im gonna drop the 22 nosler, it was just a thought. When is this 20 nosler gonna surface?

Be easy enough to do yourself. Just have a reamer made and buy a Wilson 20 cal seating die blank. Chamber the barrel then use your reamer to make the seater die. For a sizer, just use a 22 Nosler FL bushing die and throw in appropriate 20 cal neck bushings. Run 22 Nosler cases in the FL die with 20 cal bushings and there you have it, 20 Nosler ready to rock.

Another option for a set of dies would be to send John Whidden a copy of your reamer spec sheet.

A 20 caliber on the 22 Nosler case should be good stuff, but even better will be the 20 Nosler with its .085” longer case body, still yet to be released. I’m lookin’ to see what else may be going on at Shot Show 2018 …

20 cal wildcat niches are getting pretty full these days for custom rifle builders / hand loaders. Plenty of options out there from ultra fast like the 20 BR to little puffers like the 20 K Hornet.

But for folks who use factory rifles, and especially those who still use factory ammo (Uhg!) the 204 Ruger is still pretty much the only option. There's some additional 20 cal options in rifles like Cooper and whatnot, but those aren't really mainstream. I think an additional 20 caliber offering to the mainstream factory rifle and ammo world would be a sound investment for manufacturers.

If I was a more sensitive person you would hear that I was appalled by various ammo/component companies abandoning some cartridge after aggressively promoting it - .300 RSAUM, 7mm RSAUM, .223 Win SSMag, .243 Win SSMag, .257 Win SSMag, .17 Mach2, .17 Rem, .300 RCM, .338 RCM, .307 Win, .30 Rem AR, 8mm Rem Mag, and possibly more. At least there was a good reason they quit major production of the 6.5X50 and 7.7X58 Japanese. It is possible with some effort or expense to get brass for these rounds but commonly they are not an easily available commodity. Having no .17Mach 2 ammo might require a re-barrel job to .22 LR. All initially good ideas but ultimately economic fizzles. In addition, I would be unhappy to lose some 25-50% of my AR ejected .22 Nosler brass in the weeds while shooting varmints.
I just replenished my 17M2 supply when they became available again this year. However, I am concerned about the case necks splitting in storage, so I keep them in a sealed ammo box.

Problem is ive had them all and Im bored lol. Im a sucker for a "neat" looking round. Always have been. Anyone on here build one in a bolt gun?
I for one am tired of seeing the same old, same old chamberings in factory offered bolt guns. I would like to see a company do what Remington did with the 700 Classics- make short runs of near obsolete chamberings. I don't foresee ever buying another .223, .22/250, .243, .270, 30/06, or .308 .......they are boring and everyone has three of each. Buy a bag of 100/200 cases, and with annealing that will last you as long as the factory barrel will.

I'm Not buying into the 22 nosler or any creedmoor . It's just another pig with lipstick. It's just that if the manufacturer stops making components we take the loss and the hoarding begins. I got a 17 fireballt that I was short brass for awhile. Not going down that road again.

i have tried several of the A/R caliber variations and for my varminting purposes -yet only the .20 practical has really been a joy. I think though, because one only needs invest in a barrel, magazines and brass in order to step up the game by a noticeable level, all the while using the same bullets you probably have laying around, this .22 Nosler just might become VERY popular with time. People choose 7mm Rem Mags over 280 Remingtons or 30-06 over .308's every day. All for the sake of driving a heavier bullet and/or faster. This is similar EXCEPT it makes an improvement to what is probably the most commonly used center fire cartridge and used in the most commonly used modern rifle platform currently out there. This is WAY bigger of a deal in the scope of brass volume sold for folks wanting that extra "edge". Until someone comes out with something better - this should prove to be a big seller. Not so fair to compare 28 Nosler to it. That, along with the hundreds of other center fire cartridges out there - can't do what the .22 Nosler does with a .224" bullet in the AR15 platform. I wouldn't build one in a bolt gun - but in an A/R - this is a pretty cool round that serves as a definite improvement to our venerable 223/556 for a number of applications.
