Is silhouette dead?

think rules and bickering helped kill it off in a lot of areas. If I have a x number of guns in the safe and having to build something to meet someone else's rules is a turn off. Like shoots that are fairly open on the rules (shoot what you got) and the targets at range are challenging.

Dead in my area for a typical reason. When the original guy at one range gave it up after about 10 years a college professor took it over for the next season. He never held one match, they usually had close 150 guns. The second range the family that ran the match, did All the work, and cooked great meals which they provided the meat for free, got an ok to buy a new electric cooktop for the kitchen which was badly needed. The club gave them a figure to spend. They were offered a 240v top which the club was wired for, at only a 40.00 additional charge. At the next meeting 2 old locals who never shot any match, did no work at the club, stood up at the next club meeting and proclaimed them theives. Whole family got up and walked out. The club had 1 match after that. Club was making clear over 1000.00 per match. End of IMHSA in my area the same year.

I co-ran RF silhouette for 3 years at our club. Even though we had different classes and supplied different grades and brands of ammo so many gradually dropped out if they didn't win or place in the top 3 of their class.

there are a lot of people that like instant gratification, something that seldom happens in any sport requiring time and input effort. so they try something do not do well and get turned off.

I found the opposite to be true of silhouette. With an xp it was too easy. The first time I laid down and shot a match it was a 36 or 37. I can see the challenge with a revolver or something like that, but I enjoy xps more.
