Is RCBS just another import marketing company these days ?

I recently bought a new RCBS powder stand and it was made in China. Looking at the finish on the new progressive press finish it looks exactly the same so I'm going to guess it is also Chinese ? I see they moved to Idaho so I'm also guessing they shut down production in California ? Does anyone here know the whole story of the recent changes ? I know they admitted they were getting the press castings from China some time ago but I'm now wondering if it's all just Chinese import ?

RCBS, like many others, are using other sources to keep costs down. The cost savings is passed on to their customers. Their castings are made to RCBS specifications, assembled by RCBS, and have the same no BS warranty and outstanding service they are known for. EPA regulations in our country have all but eliminated casting foundries.

Not aware of the location off their manufacturing but their customer service is top notch!
Hopefully Trump will get elected and bring our jobs back!

The above couldn't have been stated better.
I personally do not know of another company that has had such a stellar warranty policy (no BS) for so long. ( I can only go back to 1963 with RCBS).

I do, Redding, Forster, Lee and Wilson are all US Made products who stand behind their products with terrific customer service.

+1
I stopped buying RCBS when I learned they moved the Rockchucker to china.
+2, instead of raising their prices to maintain USA jobs and quality they have chosen to be an economy line. Nothing wrong with it, but I insist on domestic reloading tools.

No one has better customer service than RCBS. Wherever their products are made, they stand behind them. In the last few years I have tried and liked their bushing FL dies as well as their sizing bushings, products that some of you may not be aware that they offer. In the field of automatic powder dispensers, the Chargemaster is the clear winner. It is not only a matter of where things are manufactured, but also how their design and engineering are handled, as well as quality control. Of course if equal products are made in this country, I would prefer to support our workers. My Rockchucker is an old one, and I think that my recent dies from them are American made. One of the best things about hobbies is that we get to do them the way that we want, whatever that is.

for those who stop buying RCBS because the get some components mfg over seas, I have a question,

what powder do you burn? do you use Lapau brass? what scopes do you use, come on fellows level the playing field.

RCBS is undoubtedly one of the fines run and caring companies I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with

Bob

Companies move their operations to China (and other countries) in order to lower the cost of manufacturing and INCREASE profit. That is the only reason, PROFIT!
There is no thought or care about helping to keep prices low for the people of the USA, if you believe other then this you are living in a dream world!!
Taking industry out of a country will destroy it's economy, have you noticed!

If the government would limit US based countries to ONLY a certain percentage of there overseas manufacture, and non US based countries limited to certain percentages of exporting to the US, we wouldn't be going down hill like a run a way train!
We would again be a country headed in a positive direction.

The cost difference is right here:

RCBS Rock Chucker - $127.00
Redding Big Boss II - $200.00
Forster Co-Ax - $300.00

Each one, is as well made and capable as the other. Look at the window sticker on a new car or truck made by the "big three". The percentage of parts from other countries is considerable. They could install a U.S.A. made McIntosh entertainment system in your car for a few thousand dollars more, but are you willing to pay the price? Where is the computer you are using made?

it seems a responder has no awareness of the number of jobs/ plants etc. in this country owned by foreign companies, building positively on our economy

look in the parking lot for an example,

Bob

OR- Actual Sinclair prices (not fudged ):
RC-$ 150
Boss II- $190
Hornady L&L - $ 130
As far as the profit motive...if you think profit is evil....perhaps you should cash in on your "evil" stocks/ withdraw your $$$ from your savings acount and put in your piggy bank....shame on you for wanting your $$ to make $$ ----that is GREED ::)

I'm guilty of driving a foreign car. Yes they create jobs here. The profit goes home to the motherland,i believe.
The profit goes to the dealership in the U.S. The dealership has already paid for the manufacturers profit.
