Is my 20 moa base the problem?

I have a Remington 700 with a 20 moa Nightforce base. I recently replaced my Nightforce NXS with a Kahles 6-24x56. Problem is i mounted the Kahles and it will not adjust down enough to POI AT 100 YDS. Adjusted all the way down POI to the scope is at roughly 500 yds. I'm using Vortex medium 34mm ring with the Kahles. Do I need a 0 MOA base?

No, 20 MOA is not going to cause that big a problem. Is there a zero stop? That could be limiting you.

so it sounds like you need to make a decision.
do i want a 100 zero or do i need max distance.
put in a lower moa base pickup 100 and pass on max.

No, the base is definitely not the issue. I have a couple of Khales mounted on 20 MOA bases, and no problem at all.

It's probably where the zero stop is set. You may need to artificially set your zero at a higher mil first, to give you some more mils so you can get back to zero. Then you can set the scope to "0". I.E. if you need a further 3 mils down, set the scope "zero" so it lines up on the 3 mil hash mark, tighten the set screws, and then click down to the actual "zero" and set it again.

The Khales scopes have more than enough elevation to work with a 20 MOA base. You should be able to use upwards of 45 MOA of elevation with these scopes.

I believe your correct about the zero stop. I did loosen the knob to reset it. I will try to zero it today if I get a chance. I'll update if I get time.
