Is it just me, Remington or a new law??

Can't remember which gun it was that I bought, sometime in the eighties I think that was barrel stamped WARNING -- Misuse or improper handling of this product could cause serious injury or death. -- Carefully read instruction manual.

That may not be the exact wording, but it's close. On a gun for God sake. I just don't buy many new guns anymore. jd

Doesn’t seem to impair the functioning of my Remington Model 700 Milspec .308. You don’t even notice it when you look through the scope!71D1E8CD-2BB8-4435-A23E-427BD95717DB.jpeg

I agree the performance and functionality of most rifles and shotguns sitting on dealers shelves today are unbelievably good for all the more pride and workmanship that goes into them. Just this past weekend I ran a bolt on a Ruger all American ranch rifle I think it was and it was just unbelievably bad. Will the thing possibly shoot 1 inch groups and go boom and hit most targets within 300 yards, probably. But I say guns like this have absolutely no redeeming value other than sentimental reasons from the owner with time spent with them in the field . Today’s young shooters I guess are going to have to be happy with this and they for the most part don’t know any different. The greatest generation (World War II veterans) and the children they produced might possibly be the last to enjoy, appreciate and even know what quality workmanship is and looks like in an affordable rifle or shotgun available to the masses.
