Is H4831 the same burn rate as H4831SC

I have found some standard 4831 in the UK, we will not have SC till 2015 so I was wondering if the powder is the same but larger kernels? I realise the load density will be different.
I have seen a similar post but could not find it.

Thanks for your time
Gary.

Hodgson says they have the same burn rate. I shot both with little or no difference.

IMR 4831 has about the same burn rate as Hodgdon 4831SC. While Hodgdon 4831 has a slightly slower burn rate than both IMR 4831 and H4831SC. Apparently the longer kernals of H4831 make it burn a bit slower than the short cut. Use the same starting loads and work from there. I've been shooting 4831 in all three versions for almost 30 years, and there is little difference save for the SC being more temperature tolerant and of course kernel size. Of course there is now IMR7828SSC, and it's very impressive. I've been using it of late and am quite pleased with it's performance in my long range 7mm!
