Is anyone using Retumbo in 264 mag.

I have a new Rem 700 with a Shilen 27 3/4 inch barrel in 264 Win Mag and am trying to find out what some of the newer slow burning powders will work in it. Is anybody using Hodgdon Retumbo in a 264 Mag?

I use Retumbo with 140`s, H1000 with 130`s, RL25 with 120`s, and H4831 with 100`s.

I was on a search with the 140`s that would reach the 3200 fps mark, for some reason. The Retumbo will reach that speed by pushing pretty hard on the throttle.

The one example I have heard about from my Smith. He put one together with a 26" Broughton. They are shooting 140 Berger VLDs going around 3300fps. The powder of choice that, shot the best was H4831SC. They also used H4350 with velocity of 3250 or so.

This rifle is rumored to be spooky accurate with that load.
