Is .271 a no-turn neck?

My new 6mmBR is going together nicely with only some minor bedding and stock trimming remaining.

While I've been mostly a .223 shooter and reloader, the 6mmBR carries with it a new question. My new McGowen 1:8 twist Savage bull SS barrel has a .271 neck, according to their schematic. I've seen others post that their .272s are no-turn neck size.

So, hoping not to have to turn necks, can anyone tell me if a .271 can be considered a no-turn neck. Tell you the truth, it probably won't be a neck-turner regardless of the answer. But I'd like to hear your opinions. Will that .001 make that much difference as to neck- or no-neck turning goes?

Thanks, fellas.

I have two Redding bushings to start with, a .267 and a .268. Considering your Lapua loaded-round measurements given,.2695 and .2694), do Do I need to go up to a .269 bushing as well, or will the .268 work with my barrel. Won't the brass spring back a little after sizing? I'm just a tad confused here when it comes to internal neck size this close.

I use a .267. I prefer a little more tension. I'd get a .266 before a .269 for later if you don't or aren't gonna anneal. Not all bushings are exact either.

My PT & G reamer is a .271 and I do not turn necks but the reamer might be cutting a neck a couple tenth's over .271 ? ? ? I've never done a chamber cast to check. My loaded rounds usually measure about .269 plus a couple of tenths.

Mr. Mike Bryant cut my chamber to .271 and I've not turned necks. I was concerned about my new lot of brass but it is working fine too. It is close. I think a .272 would be a bit better, but mine sure shoots good with minimal sizing. Brass lasts and lasts.
