We had a beautiful summer morning at the Sac Valley Shooting Center in the heart of the Ione Triangle for our yearly IR50/50 Club Tournament. Temps were mild for August starting out in the low 70's and only hitting the mid 80's by the time we wrapped it up @ 1:00.
Wind was typical for this time of year mostly the SW tailwind varying from 6:00 to 8:00 with the occasional reverse from 4-5:00. Tails went from twitchy down to @ 2/3rds up with just enough change to keep you holding.
We had 8 shooters join us for the festivities with a couple of club regulars Dave & Raymond coming to try their hand at RF competition for the first time. Hope you guys had a good time!
The first 3 card Agg of the morning had Card 1 being won by Marcus Byrne who continues his hot streak with a 250-17x for the win and HS of the match, Randy Kirkbride was 2nd with the only other 250 of the agg with 10x, Ron Chisick 3rd at 247-10x.
Card 2 was won by Pierre Bigras with a 249-19x, beating my 249-15x for 2nd, Marcus 3rd with a 248-18x.
I snagged Card 3, turning the tables on Pierre with my 249-14x beating his 249-11x for 2nd, Randy 3rd at 248-14x beating out Marcus on a FM tiebreaker.
Agg 1 was won by Marcus Byrne with a nice 746-49x, Randy Kirkbride a close 2nd at 745-36x,
Pierre Bigras 3rd at 744-42x.
Once the results were posted for the 1st Agg we rolled right into the 2nd agg, as the breezes were starting to pickup and get a little more difficult to stay on top of.
Card 1 was taken by Marcus again with the only 250 of the 2nd agg an amazing for the condition 250-15x, Pierre a distant 2nd at 247-18x, with one of the aforementioned rookies Dave Gross 3rd with a 245-13x.
Card 2 was won by Randy with a 249-12x, Marcus 2nd at 248-15x, Pierre 3rd with a 247-9x.

Card 3 was taken by Pierre at 248-16x edging out Marcus who had 248-13x, Randy 3rd with a 247-15x.
Agg 2 was won by Marcus with another 746 this time with 43x's, Pierre was 2nd with a 742-43x,
Randy 3rd with a 740-36x
The 6-Card Grand Aggregate aka "The Money Match" where $5.00 of your entry fee goes into a pot for the top 4 shooters:
1st Place: Marcus Byrne 1492-92x
2nd Place: Pierre Bigras. 1486-85x
3rd Place: Randy Kirkbride 1485-72x
4th Place: Greg Wilson 1472-62x
Thanks to all the participants, I especially appreciate everyone's help since I was multitasking in Dan's absence and had a full plate! FYI, he is home from his knee surgery, but they have him on an antibiotic drip for a few weeks so he is stuck in his big green chair for a while.
Hope to see everyone next month for the 2-day California State/Southwest Regional Championship which will be shot at both yards and meters both days.
