IOR 36X42 Benchrest Competition Scope

IOR 36X42 Benchrest Competition
Has anyone had any experience with this scope would you buy this or recommend it or would you just go for IOR 9x39-56 scope
which one would be best for benchrest shooting or would they both preform the same.

Regards
Andy

Buy a Nightforce or a leupold and have money left over for a nice dinner.LOL If you need work done to it in the future, who do you send it too? I have always wondered about this with all the eastern european scopes. They are super nice scopes but I want someone I can call here who can fix it stateside. Sorry I didnt realize you are in europe all ready.Disregard.

Here is a review

The optics in the 36X IOR are as good as any scope that I have seen. Also, the ability to hold POI is impeccable. The only problem is the weight. Mine weighs 24 0z. and I made weight in the sporter division (10.5 pounds) with a 21 inch LV barrel on my BAT with Leonard stock. If you can stand the weight, you will not find a better scope at any price. The retail for the BR model is about $1200. Good shooting...James Mock

Mr. Mock---I totally agree on your assessment of the IOR 36x42. I have one and absolutely love it . A friend of mine was using it at an egg shoot last summer and said that he could actually see the dental floss that the eggs were hung on (when there was a let-up in the mirage) @ 500 yds. I have used various models of IOR"s on most of my hunting rifles for years. The optics and reliability are excellent in all of them--- their only drawback for competition is, of course, the wt. issue. Lots of people voice concerns about their customer service, but my experience with them has been awesome-- they even overnited me a new set of their binocs when I dropped the ones I had out of a 10ft tower blind on a rock. They supposedly have a 12-52x56 variable in the works that is maybe gonna be available in Aug. I"m sure it will be heavy, but don"t know the specs for sure. I"m on the list for one, as weight is not a factor in some of our long range clay bird and egg shoots, and I"m sure the optics will be superb. Thanks for your review--Scott

Guys... These posts are from 9 years ago.

I sold one to a fellow member about a month ago. Not exactly having sellers remorse but I admit that I may in the future when I find myself needing a scope like that.
