Introduction to F-Class Smallbore (F-SBR)

The following is a link to a brief PowerPoint (in .pdf format) that was generated by ASSA as an introduction to the sport of F-Class smallbore (F-SBR) competition.

It contains basic information regarding the equipment, rules, targets, etc. that would be of interest to anyone that may be interested in participating.

Hi Ken,

Question, once a competitor is setup to shoot a match do they have to move from one shooting area to another? like I believe NRL and PRS competitors do.
I probably can get into a prone position but, not sure about getting up quickly:(

Lee,
No, once you have a firing point, that is where you will be for the entire match. The only movement would be in a situation where there may be 2 relays and you share a point, however moving on and off would only occur after a minimum of 40 shots (2 targets) ~ 1 hour.

Short answer. No.

You will be shooting from the same location for the duration of your relay and match.

If there is a 2nd relay you will have ample time to get up to recover your gear.

Thanks Ken, Now I just have to see how my neck will be as I have two fused disc. need to try shooting at my club and see. as it is now shooting RFBR I have to keep my head as straight up as possible to not over strain it. one good thing about that is I no longer look thru the scope when I shoot, forces me to watch my flags. I assume flags are allowed?

Flags down range are placed by the hosting organization. You are allowed to have a personal wind indicator within 24" of the firing line.

Lee,
If you are able to attend the ASSA nationals, trust me, there will be flags down range. I have made close to 200 total for the organization to date...... Typically, there is a flag at about 10m, 35m and 85m distances with a set of flags every 2 firing points for the entire line.

Ken,

I am not too concerned about flags, I shoot a .22lr. Ground hog side-match where no flags are allowed. 50 & 100yds. my main concern is how well my neck would hold up. I have to try it out and see.
where are the nationals held at?
