I ran across a couple of findings lately that I thought the guys on here would find interesting.
several years ago I used hornady unique case lube. it smelled bad and was real thick didn't care for it. Recently I ran out of imperial sizing die wax which works real good and I like. I couldn't find any here in town and I hate to pay shipping for such a small item so I bought some hornady unique thinking I would thin it down with a little mineral spirits. well to my surprise it didn't smell bad and was a lot thinner than it used to be... goodbye imperial.
Another thing that I found was a redding sizing die for 300 WSM that put any where from .003-.007" runout on sized casses looking at the expander button it is cylindrical about .4" where it expands the case neck. I took it and chucked it in the lathe and stoned the first half that goes into the neck tapered just a few thousandths and now the runout on sized casses is less than .002. it even straightened casses that had already been sized. just wanted to share my findings.
