Sometime back, I posted about this Interarms Mark X 30-06 project I was doing. Here's a link to that thread:
As things go, it took me a while to get out to do some load work. I was able to get out this afternoon and things fell together very nicely. I started with 760 but didn't find much love there. But what I did find showed that the gun was trying to shoot.
Switching to IMR4064, it stepped right up...producing some nice three shot groups as I went up with the load. Scope rings are some bedded Talley LW's and scope is a late '90's vintage Tasco World Class TS series that's been proven on literally dozens of rifles. With the 22" pencil barrel, I think three shot groups are certainly acceptable for an application like this. My goal for this project was consistent half inch performance and it met that goal.
A few shots from the day. Winds were semi-sporty from the 3:00 from 12-16 mph. Will swap the scope out for a hunting style scope, rezero it at 200 and call it good.
Good shootin'

Just finished this one up. Like many of my projects, it started out because I'm a sucker for orphan rifles. I saw it about a year ago in a local shop in the 'Used' rack....an Interarms Mark X in 30-06. It had a cheap synthetic stock on it but the bluing was nice and it clearly hadn't been shot much. These are commercial derivatives of the Mauser 98 and fairly well regarded. Anyway, it ended up coming home with me and I finally got time to get to it.
