Insurance

If you are a member of the NSSA (or for that matter most any other shooting association) they have links to insurance. I have insurance through the NSSA. My home owners will not cover any guns and since I am water front on salt water, I have very few insurance options for my home. Cost runs about $10.00 per $1,000 in coverage, per year. Guns bought new with a receipt or used with a valid receipt, are covered at original purchase price (stated value insurance) others at book value.

Bob, what insurance company is that cheap? Most are around ten dollars per thousand.

The NRA Insurance that you activate after you receive your membership is only $2500. They offer additional insurance as noted above. In Oregon I am paying about $240 for $23,000 in coverage. No questions asked.

That sounds right- it is about 100 per 10000 per year here.

Eastern Insurance minimum premium is $150/year for $40k coverage last I inquired. I currently have NRA insurance for nearly double the price. I need to switch.

All these quotes are for a yearly premium, correct?

I pay around $150 for ‘umbrella’ liability coverage, thinking maybe it’s time to re-evaluate my collection’s coverage as well.

I have mine insured, including my fishing gear, under personal articles coverage with my homeowners insurance.

My home owners wanted pictures, and professional appraisals for each item, plus it was ridiculously expensive.
