Instant Pot / Off topic

I use mine 3 time a week, Beans, stew, BBQ, pot roast, chicken soup and the list goes on. Get the 8 quart, whole chicken can fit in there. I like not having to watch it cook. nilebartram

Ita really the fruits of the modern digital age, digital controlled pressure cooker that can do more than just cook a roast in a short time. As Alton Brown says, im a fan of multi-use kitchen appliances.

I do a lot of beans in my instapot. No more overnight soaking. 8 minutes well covered with water is the equivalent of an overnight soak, rinse well then 7-10 minutes depending on the beans and they’re done.

Just placed the order.. (Amazon gift cards) 8 qt and also got the air fryer... I hope she does what the videos say.. Got some venison that needs to go in pot.. Thanks everyone.

Bill, which brands did you buy? I'm considering buying both and would like to purchase from one place. I read what Jd said about the Pampered Chef but I'm not sure on the insta pot or ninja. I need to watch the video. I will definitely be looking for an 8qt. My daughter's is a 6qt. It's a little on the small side.

I went with: Instant Pot Duo Crisp Pressure Cooker 11 in 1, 8 Qt with Air Fryer, Roast, Bake, Dehydrate and more..
$179.95 + 6% tax..

It does what they say. It's really a matter of figuring out what spices/flavors to use.

You could take a pair of 20 year old leather boots, toss them in an instant pot, and in 30 minutes it would probably have the consistency of pulled pork. I bet it wouldn't taste all that bad either. :)

Ha, no need for that, Just pull into that BBQ place off Hwy 20, 1/2 way between Columbia, SC and Augusta GA.. Nastiest food ever.. I think they filmed a movie there..

I have had a digital pressure cooker for over 10 years now. Eventually the new wears off and you go back to cooking like you used to.

(both of these have the air fryer feature)....
So I watched the video and there doesn't seem to be a nickle's worth of difference in the two brands with regards to the finished product. I'm also gleaning that one wants to purchase a large enough size unit. My questions are 1). Are any of these American made? 2). Are there any known brands to avoid due to poor quality? I tried the search mode on here and couldn't find any info :D :D :D :D

Everyone wants instant gratification, me I like to prep and cook the old way, start in the morning and let simmer all day to get all the flavors then have for dinner.
I'm retired and I am home all day any way. Croc pot for "pot roast" and the fixings top of stove for most every thing else, chili, soups, sauces.

Anyone using an Instant Pot for cooking?
I'm thinking about getting a 7 in 1 / 6 quart..
Edit: I thought it was "Insta" Pot.. My mistake.. Changed to "Instant"
We have one. Use it all the time.
I can do fall off the bone ribs in 60 minutes.
Hardboiled eggs in 5 minutes.
Damm thing is pretty useful.
