Hello,
I am preparing to install a set of rails on a McMillan 50-H stock. The stock has the 5 inch wide forend and the butt is approx. 2 1/4 underneath. WHAT is the best method to anchor the rails to the stock? Do I need to use pillars and if so do they need to be tapered to prevent them from pulling out, or do the pillars need to be epoxied in? This doesn't look to be that complicated but there may be more to it than it looks. I know that the rails need to be perfectly straight both front and rear. I just don't want to screw things up.
Thanks for any response.
