In another thread @DaveTooley recently posted using a triangular piece of paper inside an aluminum sleeve to hold a tapered barrel in a steady rest.
Well I needed to install an LV in a glue and screw for which I did not have a workable tapered

sleeve for my barrel vice. So I tried Dave's approach and just cut a straight sleeve.
Worked great with a piece of sheetrock tape and a little rosin....didn't slip a bit.
