Glueing on a bushing to ride the steady rest

What could I use to "glue" a taper bored bushing onto a cerrokoted barrel, that can be easily released without harming the cerrokote? I read an article by someone that was doing something very similar using automotive bondo.
Any superior ideas?
I plan to machine the outside of bushing in place on centers then move to the steady for the actual work. So i need a decent amount of hold. Thanks

Split bushing held on with hose clamps? Split bushing with cap screws holding it together flush? Make a cathead that will go in your steady on a pillow block bearing?

Id machine a split collar clamping bushing just over bore size with clamping collars on each end and unsplit in the middle. IDK of any adhesive Id trust that wouldn't ruin the ceracoat.

You're going to say this won't work but I've been doing it for 30 years. Aluminum or steel bushing. Straight bore or a slight taper doesn't matter. Triangular piece of paper. Wrap barrel, twist on the bushing, tap with hammer, true bushing between centers, go to work in steady rest. I use a triangular piece of paper and wrap it so it gets thicker as it goes up the barrel. Makes it easier to get the bushing started.

I dont believe I would live long enough to ever think of something like that on my own!
