Information on 2016/2017 DCRA matches at Connaught

Shiraz, I was just going to say we won't use the screws but we'll look at other ways to speed the process up. How did the MVs compare to what you were expecting?

The replacement just came in, plus it will be a month before I can shoulder the .300.

I normally use an Oehler 43 which is very accurate. I am itching to shoot and will let you know how the results compare. With the Magneto at the barrel and the Oehler at about 15' away, I will be able to shoot and chrono the same round and will have accurate side by side comparisons. I am well beow the range limits, but am curious.

Shiraz heads up for you I wouldn't be testing loads with magneto on barrel

Shiraz heads up for you magneto speed on my FTR rifle and a Oehler 35 at 15 ft gave me very close to same speeds but my 1/4" gun shot 3/4" with magneto on barrel harmonic thing?

A guy with a tuner will NEVER test a load with something other than a mirage shield touching his barrel.

We are talking about testing speeds which is the topic at hand. I probably will be shooting at a mound of dirt at that point, and couldn't care less about accuracy.

I am going to attend the f class nationals this year(2016) in Canada ,I have never shoot there before, what type of format do they shoot , it looks like they will shoot 700,800 and 900 meters , is that correct and how many rounds do they shoot at each distance, I will be shooting in f/tr class . How much ammo should I bring into Canada

DCRA FCN..JPG yes is is 700, 800 & 900 mters. They pair fire in Canada. Take a look at this link for more info. http://www.dcra.ca/fclass.php I would also take a look at their rule book. http://www.dcra.ca/2015 docs/DCRA Rule Book 2015.pdf

That chart does not include any blow offs after cleaning. Also remember that the DCRA can at anytime take 5 rounds from your ammo block for chronograph and or technical analysis. These rounds are required to be with you on the line while firing and they pick the 5 you don't.

We will have blow-offs first thing every morning. We are not certain yet whether the MV testing will be in place or not, but I do have the certified chronograph now in hand.

Any other questions just let me know.

Scott,
Question! What targets will be used for the Canadian FCN's? For the 500 yard, 600 yard & 700, 800 & 900m. The 2015 DCRA rule book to me is not particularly clear on this. Canadian targets or ICFRA? I ask since I would like to have the right size plot sheets.
See you soon.

Larry,

For the FCN we wil be using ICFRA targets at 700, 800, and 900m.

For the America Match we will be using DCRA 500y and 600y faces at 500m and 600m, and ICFRA LR targets at 800 & 900m. We don't have an ICFRA 500 or 600m target, so using the yard targets at the metric distance was about as close as we could get it.

Scotty - I have finally tested the Magneto versus the Oehler 43 I am using. Same shot by shot with both chronos registering at the same time.

The magneto performed very well and was consistently between 15 and 18 FPS faster, which is nothing in my mind. So all worked well. The magneto, on my rifle, took all three spacers. I suspect with most F-Open rifles, that setting will be the same.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in a few days!
