Thanks for jogging my memory.
This week my wife and I are going west of here to near Marshall, Michigan to visit a long lost relative of hers. He was captured at Spotsylvania Court House, Va. by those dastardly rebels. He was sent to Andersonville Prison, Ga. After about a year there he contracted severe diarrhea, which caused the Confederates to free him so he could "go home to die". He walked from Georgia to Marshall, Michigan to his home there where he lived about one month and then died. It's our duty.

He is resting for eternity now. The following are not my words but, they are in my heart.

Rest easy, sleep well my brother
Know the line has held, your job is done.
Rest easy and sleep well.
Other have taken up where you fell, the line has held.
Peace, peace, and farewell...

Of all the wonderful tributes I've seen for a fallen Vet, this is one of the finest. And knowing M-61 as I do, I'm not surprised that he took the time to honor a fellow Vietnam Veteran. Kudos to Chuck for jogging our memories about a fellow shooter who shared much with others up here on Accurate Shooters. Rest in Peace JVON and thanks to both for your dedicated and honorable service to our great nation.
