In need of VARGET and CCI SRBR

I live in upstate NY and am looking for some VARGET and CCI BR primmers for the 6BR. I have searched all the local stores and powder and primers around here is all but gone let alone VARGET. Every common powder is sold out and there are very few,2) stores within an hour drive of Albany who even cary any reloading supplies. Does anyone know of a source for my neck of the woods? I would be willing to make a trip into VT. or Eastern Penn.
As a side note I visited the gunshow today,NY's largest) at the NYS fair grounds in Syracuse and the line to get in was a quarter mile long all day long! I have never seen this before!! I saw at least 30,000 people there! I found one vendor from Penn. selling primers but they were out of all SR. They were actually limiting sales to one box per customer so everyone could get some of what they had, and they did not have much. I admire what they were trying to do! One other vendor was selling LR match for $75/1000 and folks were buying it up. Most of what I saw were pistol primers though... Slim pickens.

I just made a trip from Delaware to Rochester. I was looking for CCIBR4 primers and found none. I did fine some 450's I bought 1000. There was another 1000 there. These were in Allentown, PA. I found some Fed 205's I bought 700 it was all they had. I found another store with CCI 450's and I bought the 500 they had left. There was NOTHING anywere in NY from Binghamton through Auburn and over to Rochester except for 209 and small pistol primers. I heard perhaps a shop in Buffalo might have BR4 primers - don't know the name.

I'm pretty sure I can find Varget for you. I'm in Lehighton, PA,north side of the tunnel on 476 turnpike). I'll double check in the morning. If I find any I'll get it anyway. I'm usually in NY a couple times a month. Some months every week.

I'll post up if I get any.

Yikes!! All I could find is some RL15. I'll be making a trip a few hours west tomorrow I'll see if I can find anything.

OK. I found two 8lb cans of Varget. $180 each plus PA sales tax. Favload has first refusal. I can get it tomorrow. Located in PA about 20 miles north of Allentown. I travel quite a bit but won't be anywhere next week.

There were a couple 1lb cans of H4895 also. I didn't really look for anything else.

I'll check back in the morning AFTER Turkey hunting. Promised the wife I'd be back 'about' 1000 hrs.

Just talked to CCI customer service on Wed, he said that they have not produced any CCI BR4's,SR) since last Oct, so you probably won't find any, he also didn't know when the would re start production as they are working on a sensitivity issue with that primer.

Hey Jeff thanks for looking. Your about 4.5 hrs+ from me. Thats a bit too far for me. Does your job ever bring you near Albany or Schenectady? If so maybe we could work out a deal.

I usually get to Auburn every other week. I can find a reason to get to Utica/Marcy area or easily have it waiting for you there.

8lbs is more than I think I need however splitting it two or three ways isn't bad.

We've only been talking about my traveling. Getting something small to points north might not be that bad. I havent't been watching schedules lately. But a week wait should be normal to get something to Auburn.

Hey Jeff, I'll tell you what, let me know the next time your in the Utica area. If Varget is still hard to find my way and you can still get the 8lbs I'll drive over to Utica and meet you. It's about a 2+ hour drive for me. I would be willing to split the 8lbs or even buy it all. If you shoot 223, 308, or 22-250 I could throw you some brass for your trouble, or buy the beer! I would also be VERY interested in any CCI BR SR primers you may want to get rid of.

I don't have any CCI BR4 primers, and I've been looking. One of the local shops did have 1000 CCI 450 mag small rifle primers. I could check and see if they're still available. Not BR's, but they'll make the rifle go bang.

I didn't check, but I think we can ship primers??

I've been waiting on a 6br being built by Stockade in Nebraska. My purchases lately are purely speculation. I won't get the gun for another month and a half at least and I'm buying up what I think I might need. I've been contemplating messing with powder when working up a load, but it seems hard to beat Varget. Then again the gun still isn't in my hands.
