To Honor and appreciate the best of us!For bravery and gallantry above and beyond the call of duty Navy Seal Edward Byers Jr. shall be awarded the Medal of Honor for those that cannot be there to receive one themselves!Thank You!Fellow members please share your brothers or your friends glory in Heroism especially at a time when we need Heroes I feel this is something we would all be proud of. Thank You! Ralph Mollett

Certainly, it is with much honor and gallantry, that Senior Chief Edward Byers Jr was awarded the Congressional Medal Of Honor. His actions under fierce enemy fire, is representative of what hundreds of members of various specialized combat units, within the military branches of service, do daily and do so without a desire for notoriety, mention or even considerations of their own safety, while in the service of our great nation. It has been and is my honor and privilege, to have crossed paths with some of these heroes who are presently or have been Seals, members of the 75th Army Ranger Battalion and Delta Force. And not to brag, but I am so very proud of one of those heroes who happens to be my Son-In-Law, Sgt 1st Class Chad Edwards, who is no longer assigned to a Special Operations Unit, but still serves our country now as an instructor at Ft Benning, GA. Whenever he's in town along with my daughter and their children, I have the distinct pleasure of going on bike rides together for exercise. And we don't talk about his missions in Iraq and Afghanistan, but more about how he's doing and coping physically and mentally with his past military adventures. But he also shares a unique quality of honor that as 338 Mollett points out, deserves honorable mention and recognition. Funny how the medals all these men's receive, don't really mean all that much to them personally, as I even have to collect the medals Chad has earned and to encase them for posterity and something for him (and his family) to reflect upon in the future. And it is through the efforts and sacrifices of men like Chief Byers, Chad Edwards and hundreds of other unsung heroes of the present and past, that allows our country to remain the best place to live throughout the world. Congrats to Chief Byers and thanks for all you do and have done for our country. God Bless!

Thanks Mollett. Been done now three years. 18 months of that retirement flat on my back after spine surgery. It is true that few remember us, and even more of us want to forget!

Your words are appreciated

well deserved Medal for a Man at the very tip of the spear!!! Had a very close friend of the family (RIP), Ken Peck, whom was a SEAL through Vietnam. Also jumped with a guy (Jerome McCauley (RIP) http://jerome-mccauley.last-memories.com/, whom was a SEAL. These guys are awesome. Have met a bunch of these guys, they are true warriors!!! Dick Marcinko met him in Virginia, Command Master Chief Dennis Chalker (my brother jumped with him).
