I've been searching and not having luck. I wanted to look before I jumped on and blasted questions. My Berger manual doesn't have the 190s in it. I can find 7828 loads for 160gn bullets, but nothing for the 190 LR Hybrids. A majority of the threads with the 190 also use a bunch of RL products that I haven't seen available in a LONG time. I'd love to try 17, 23, 26, etc, but I've never seen any. Anyone using 7828SCC? Share a starting load? Have any comparisons with how it shoots against the 184s?
I just completed a 7SAUM build and I'm starting to reload also. I've already loaded 180 Hybrids with 4831SC and liked what I saw. I actually learned quite a bit and calmed some of the mystery of reloading. I'm going to do a little more work-up of the 180 but am looking to keep experimenting and learning what the gun likes. I will move to the 190s and assume 7828ssc would be the next slower powder for a slightly heavier bullet. Logical?
I'm probably not known at all to regular posters, but have been a member since 2012. I'm sure I watched for 5 years before that! I appreciate any advice and support.
I guess I'll share what I have in the box if that would prompt any other conversation or advice:
27" Bartlein 5R 7.7twist (I thought that was fast but Short Action Customs said that was the ticket)
I have-
2lbs H1000; 4lbs 7828ssc; 7lbs 4831sc; I may have 2lbs of RL17 that I impulse bought when I thought I was going to do a Shehane...
Berger 180 VLDs, Hybrids; 184s F class; 190 LR Hybrids (about 700)
Nosler 185 RDF (500)
200 Scenar 180s
200 SMK 180s (impulse buy when nothing was available for a year or so...)
I had a long gestation period acquiring components before I actually ordered a barrel. I ended up with a bit of a hodge podge and probably 2 barrels worth of bullets. For 2 years, I acquired what I could get my hands on. I didn't plan it that way, but that's how it turned out. You know how it is/was - no primers. No powder. No 7mm target bullets. Then it trickled in for 9 months.
Thanks in advance, team. Looking for a recipe for 7828ssc and 190's (or whatever else you want to chat about.)
