I looked for 75gr but they do not list it as an option. I know it works for 100gr bullets. Very nice fireball when shooting at night.

I shot thousands of rounds of 75 HP & 85 HPBT Sierra's with 4831 and 4350 in a 6mm rem. Don't have my chrono data anymore. I think 4350 is what most people use. Both work. The Sierra manual gives 100 fps more speed with 4350. The Berger manual gives 4831SC more speed. Go for accuracy. Cannot comment on clean burning. I don't worry about clean burning. I clean the rifle every 15-20 shots. Look for flyers after about 20 shots. I think it's an indication of bore fouling?

In my experience with that combination, it is too slow burning.... especially if you have a barrel under 26 inches long or a twist rate of 1-9, 1-10, or 1-12. I've found H414, WW760, R-15, and either of the 4350's to be a better choice. WD

My best results with the lighter bullets in the .243 has been with Varget and RL15.

The slow burning powders tend to give a pyrotechnic display in front of the muzzle visible if the firing point is in shade or at dusk. If you are sitting beside the rifle the concussion is also more noticeable. All this indicates powder being burnt in front of the barrel instead of inside the bore.

I sold my .243 some time back, (big mistake) and I don't remember the numbers but, it really liked H-414 with the lighter bullets.

Right now I am a varmint hunter with a 6BR Norma. If I want to know which powders are efficient for a given bullet and cartridge I look at the powders in several reloading manuals that give the highest velocity with safe pressures. I assume this takes care of the best burn speed? If it doesn't I don't care.. Powders like RE-15 and 8208 didn't exist when I was shooting my 6mm Rem. From what others have posted about powder being clean burning it gets complicated. The higher the charge the cleaner it usually burns. Someone else may comment on what the call dirty powders. You will probably get many differing opinions. Also look on the opening page of 6mmBR.com under 243 Win. info. You will see what experts are shooting.

For the 75 grain V Max will do much better with IMR 4064, Varget, or H4895.

IMR 4340 will work but it's better in my experience with 85 grain and heavier bullets.
