IMR powder?

Is IMR 4831 just about the same thing as H 4831? Can I substitute one for the other. I have H 4831 but not IMR 4831 and I do not feel like running to the store to get some.

In my experience they are close in usage and results. But I would use the same caution in working up to your load as used in developing a load. I would not go grain for grain especially with the warmer loads folks like to shoot.

Another example why it is good to ask many questions.

For my purposes, I have not seen a great difference minus the use of a chronograph. I have been able to get varmint accuracy with my 243 Winchester standard case with either powder. I have recently acquired a chrono and have not had many speed tests.

If I post again, I will be sure to be more specific. Sorry for any confusion.
