Checking the brain trust if anyone has tried it? I was wondering your results. I tried a limited test of Retumbo, H1000 and RE 33 yesterday. Had best results with H1000 and Re 33.
Being 7977 is close to H1000 see how well it works. I was thinking the heat stability might be a plus
thanks
Phil

I've had good success with 7977 in the 338 Lapua with 300g Bergers. Charge weights are nearly identical to H1000, which i understand 7977 is supposed to be similar too. I get 2800 fps with a 300g Berger in my 30 inch barrel. It'll generate more velocity but it shoots well at 2800. With 7977 I discern no difference between CCI 250 or Fed 215 primers; both work equally well.

Great and thank you for the info. I will investigate it more.
