IMR 4451

What is the ho down on 4451 in the 6XC, 6x47L from what I have been able to find and read it looks good.
I picked up a can to try in my 6XC.
I also looked for primers all I could find was Sellier and bellot LR. so I picked them up. From what I could find and read is the S&B primers give good SD and ES. Anyone using them and can verify? I wanted to shoot this weekend but 20" of snow shut that down. been digging out..

Tried some (very little) in my 6XC, didn't see anything that immediately grabbed my attention enough to make me want to burn up a bunch of barrel trying it instead of H4350, but it wasn't much different.

I could never find a reliable supply of H4350, so when IMR4451 came along, I bought a couple of pounds of it to try in my 6x47, 6XC, 6.5x47, & 260 Imp 30*. Have gotten excellent accuracy with 4451 in all four chamberings, along with good velocity. In addition, it's very temp stable. Not crazy about the fact that it's priced $25-$30 higher per 8lb jug than H4350, but as long as it's available - and H4350 isn't - I'll keep right on shooting it.

I have a few loads loaded if the weather will let me get out and shoot them. No use shooting them unless I can shoot threw the chrony and at 200 yards. The S&B primers seem short not as tall as a normal primer,I noticed they seem deeper in the pocket. I hope that is not going to be a problem.

I don't think a few thousandths deeper will hurt you. Most rifles have .060 or so protrusion. Matt
