IMR 4451 in 260Rem

Got zero results from a search, soooo Anyone try IMR 4451 in a 260 REM? Primarily I'll be shooting 142SMKs.
Hodgdon shows good velocity with reasonable pressure and without compressing the load. Also, the powder is fine grained for better metering, is insensitive to temperature changes and it's supposed to reduce fouling.
I'm thinking that if it shoots and doesn't scorch throats like H4350 it could be a winner.

My throat isn't scorched in my 6.5x47L and I use H4350... Considering the burn rate is close to H4350 I would guess IMR4451 will burn the throat just as much... Now, for your load using IMR4451 I would find published data for H4350 and start with that.. If I'm not mistaken people are finding that it takes .5-.8gr more IMR4451 to equal the same load using H4350 so start with that info..

My load testing has been with a 260 and a 6.5x47L. I'm finding .3-.5 lower loads than H4350. I'm very happy with the powder and went to using it in my 260 hunting loads. I stayed with H4350 for my target loads.

It definitely does reduce copper fouling. I have confirmed with my borescope that the copper smears typically seen on the lands will wipe right out usually with one or two patches. The bore doesn't ever need to be brushed and soaked to get it clean. It does not meter any better than any other small cylindrical "IMR" type kernel powder. I am not the greatest shot in the world, but I don't see where it is any more accurate than anything else either. I have never gotten the whole shoot the same regardless of temperature thing...I been at this since the late 70's and never had any known issues...maybe you have to be a full blown competition benchrest shooter to see it. If that's the case then it wont affect me anyways.
Bottom line, all I get out of it is the reduced copper fouling...I can take it or leave it for a few dollars a pound over 4350's price.....

I'm looking at 4451 for lighter bullets, like 123gr. Anyway, got a pound to try. So far I've found that as msinc said, it doesn't meter any better and it doesn't flow thru the funnel near as well as H4350 so unless accuracy becomes an issue, it's looking like I'll pass on more 4451.
