IMR 4320 Good for 7mm08 and 223???

Anyone have any experience with this powder. I have found some but am hesitant to drop the dime... really want rl15 or varget, but..... Thanks for the input in advance.

It is just a shade slower than either Varget or RL-15. It should work very well in a 7-08. I am quite sure it would work in a .223 with heavier bullets.. There is one caveat with IMR 4320>>> Unless you run the pressures towards max, it generally is a dirty powder. A dirty powder in a small caliber like a .223 could prove disastrous in a long string of fire.

Thanks for the response. I'm shooting a 1 in 12 on the 223 and have picked up the 55gr TSX to work up a load with. No long strings of shooting, except maybe the range. Not sure I want to get "worked up" with a dirty load! Still hoping to secure 4lbs of re15 and/or varget soon......

I have used 4320 for years in a 223 and have been very happy with it.50 gr blitz and 26.5 grains of 4320 shoots
about 3/8 inch
