Anyone have any experience with IMR 4166 in their 22/250s
I am very happy with how it works with 50, 55 and 69 gr bullets. It seems a little dirty but it is temp stable. Have only shot one load over a chronograph, the 69 gr Sierra MK, and the 10 shot average was 3275 with and ES of 18. Not single digit but I can live with it. Not shooting near max loads.Anyone have any experience with IMR 4166 in their 22/250s
Thinking 4166 wont be your best choice. In my 22-250 Imp., H4350 is about perfect with 53s. IMRs 7977 & 8133 might be the Enduron powders you're looking for with 95s if H1000 is appropriate.I have a 22.250ai 6.5 twist and a long freebore to hopefully launch 95SMKs around 3100. I heard from a friend that he uses h1000. Looking to see if anyone has any load data for IMR 4166.
4166 would be a little fast burning for the 95s I would say. I used it with good success in my 22250AI with 55g noslers but H1000 was much better for 75g and aboveI have a 22.250ai 6.5 twist and a long freebore to hopefully launch 95SMKs around 3100.
